Oct. Topic: Enrichment Opportunities and Testing for Giftedness.
We will be compiling a list of Enrichment Opportunities, so please
bring information on any activities that you have done with your
child(ren). Please include website or contact information for
the activity. Examples of Enrichment Opportunities are MITY YES
classes, Chess leagues, Fermi Math, and the Young
Scientists Roundtable. In regards to testing, we would like to
have a group discussion on the pros and cons of testing outside
the school system and share information on your experiences with
having your children tested.
Annual MCGT Conference
Saturday, Oct 25, 2008, All day
The keynote speaker for the 2008 conference is Andrew Mahoney,
director of a counseling center for the gifted and talented in
Pennsylvania. The conference will have breakout sessions on a
variety of topics for the adults and classes for kids kindergarten
through seventh grade. Details

The format for CHAT Nights allow for a short
presentation on the designated topic followed by plenty of time
for parents to talk with each other about this topic. Childcare

Snazztastic Event for MCGT Kids
Friday, October 10, 2008, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Due to popular demand, the
TLC teens have returned! They have planned an evening of fun-filled
educational activities your kids.

donations accepted and appreciated (suggested amount $5.00 per
child). We want to keep this ah-maze-ing event open to everyone,

The MCGT Teen
Leadership Corps is a group of teenagers who are working to gain
leadership experience while providing an opportunity for kids
to connect with each other. If you would like to participate in
the planning or execution of these events, contact the MCGT TLC
at info@mcgt.net. You may also join us after the event at the
same location for some chatting and games. Please RSVP if you
plan to join us!

SCSC Science and Nature Conference

This is a science conference
for children. The keynote is Ann Bancroft, who will talk about
her journeys to the North and South Poles. Details.

2nd Annual MCGT School Options Fair
Saturday, Nov. 8, 10am - 1pm
The School Options Fair is a showcase of many of the possible
full-time enrollment choices for Minnesota gifted pupils and students,
from pre-Kindergarten through post-secondary education. Representatives
of a variety of schools (public, private, charter, virtual, online,
etc.) will offer exhibits and information. Free
